I feel that my skills have developed a lot from when i first started, particularly my editing skills. I now have a wider knowledge on techniques and how/where to use them so that they coincide to produce combined effects. From research earlier in the project i feel i can match codes and conventions of moving image well enough to pass for a group trailer.

Starting my research and developing my practical skills

To begin my advanced portfolio i will research the marketing campaign for the recent film 'Battleship'. I will be concentrating on how the magazine cover, trailers and posters manage to maintain a USP (unique selling point), signified by genre and stylistic traits. Then, with the help of the Film Education website, i will attempt to devise my own trailer for the film whilst applying my newly acquired knowledge about film marketing.
